Jim Kleist (1941-1992) was born on May 1, 1941, as James Douglas Kleist, in Brooklyn, New York. He was an american independent filmmaker – his works include just incomplete films (“films like life”, he used to say). In 2007 the brazillian company Kinoarte released the short film “Satori Uso”, presenting by the first time the restored images of the film “Isolation”. Mr. Kleist also directed films like “In a Silent Way”, “A Shor Film About Life” and “Blue in Green”. This site is dedicated to his memory and legacy – a great director that until today remains as a completely unknown filmmaker.
